After September 11, 2001, Travis had to put his music career on hold and spent the next 14 years serving in the U.S. Army. “SGM” Travis Smith is now fully immersed in the Texas Music Scene ..Right Where He Belongs!
Over the past 3 years, Recording Artist/Songwriter, Travis Smith has established himself as a regular on the Texas Regional Radio Chart and the Texas Music Chart and Texas Internet Radio Chart with 4 chart songs (2 in the top 40s and 2 coming in in the top 10 on the TIRC)... and counting.
Since 2020, there have only been a few weeks that the music charts did not include at least 1 song that he has written. “Burning Daylight” , “Up To Kansas City”, “How Can I Miss Her?”, and most recently, “Too Close To Home” featuring Cindy Jo Sanders Travis’ writing style has a subtleness that people really enjoy…..a little less of the “in your face” ,,...more of a “let’s take this trip together” kinda vibe. Songs that say something, without being blatantly obvious.
Live shows are ALWAYS FUN, whether it is an acoustic show or with his full band called 0:DARK:30 , (several band members, including Travis are military vets). “If we are having fun, the audience will too.” In addition to the original songs that you have heard on the radio, you’ll hear some Merle, Hank, Alan and George,...some Tom Petty and Eagles….and of course some Great Texas/Red Dirt songs.
